Day 2

MYSORE - COORG (120 KM / APPROX. 4 HOURS DRIVE)

Transfer from hotel in Mysore to resort in Coorg, en route visit Mysore Palace (Private). Today, proceed on one of the most scenic drives through the mountains of the Western Ghats, witnessing the evergreen deciduous vegetation of Coorg. En route, visit the famous Mysore Palace, one of the major attractions of Mysore. Built in the Indo-Saracenic style, the palace is an abode of exquisite carvings and precious paintings from all over the world. The palace was the authorized residence and seat of the Maharajas of Mysore who ruled the region between the 14th and the 20th century. It houses a number of hidden tunnels leading from the cellar to other palaces and confidential areas in Srirangapatna. Later, continue to Coorg and check in to the hotel. Day 03

COORG

Enjoy a visit to Omkareshwara Temple, Madikeri Fort and Abbey Falls (Private). Today after a sumptuous breakfast, proceed on a sightseeing tour of Coorg. Visit Omkareshwara Temple, an ancient shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple has been built in a rare mix of Gothic and Islamic forms of architecture. Next, head to the famous landmark in the city of Coorg, the Madikeri Fort, one of the relics of the glorious past of Karnataka. The fort holds remnants of history. The most salient feature of the fort is that there are two masonry elephants installed outside the front gate of the fort. The fort is a great vantage point to see the entire city of Coorg from atop. Later, visit Abbey Falls, one of the highest waterfalls in Karnataka originating from the river Kaveri. The view of the cascading water from the high mountain cliffs in the Abbey falls is truly astounding. It is a very pleasant location for nature lovers and trekking enthusiasts. COORG - WAYANAD (115 KM / APPROX. 3 HOURS DRIVE)

After breakfast, proceed to Wayanad - the land of paddy fields. On arrival, check in to the hotel. Breakfast The rest of the day is at leisure to explore the city of Wayanad at your own pace.
Day 05

WAYANAD

Explore Edakkal Cave and Pookode Lake (Private). Post breakfast, proceed to visit the Edakkal Cave, which are two natural caves located at Edakkal, in the Wayanad district of Kerala, and lie 3900 ft above sea level on Ambukutty Mala. These caves contain pictorial writings believed to be dated way back to 6000 BCE, thereby indicating the presence of a prehistoric civilization here. Later, proceedto visit Pookode Lake, a scenic freshwater lake which is famous for its natural beauty. It is also a popular picnic spot and a pleasing retreat for nature lovers. Day 06

WAYANAD - OOTY (140 KM / APPROX. 4 HOURS DRIVE)

After breakfast, proceed to Ooty, also known as 'Queen of hill stations'. On arrival, check in to the hotel. Enjoy a visit to the Ooty Lake (Private). In the evening, proceed to visit the Ooty lake, an artificial lake situated in the heart of the city making it an ideal place for families. This picturesque lake is surrounded by beautiful eucalyptus trees and is shaped in the form of an 'L'. The main attraction is a two-day annual boat race that's held here in the month of May. Day 07

OOTY - OOTY (35 KM / APPROX. 1 HOUR DRIVE)

Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Ooty, followed by an excursion to Coonoor (Private). This morning, enjoy a tour of the 'Queen of the Blue Mountains'. Visit Dodabetta Peak, the highest peak in the Nilgiris and one of the most mesmerising attractions near Ooty, enveloped by an impressive landscape and majestic mountain ranges. Then, proceed to Coonoor and visit Sim's Park which houses naturally occurring flora as well as trees from around the world. Also, visit the Dolphins Nose, an enormous rock formation that resembles a dolphin's nose. Later, drive back to Ooty and visit Government Botanical Garden, one of the famous attractions of Ooty. This famous attraction features a delightful collection of unique flowering plants, ferns, lovely foreign shrubs and a bunch of other exotic, herbal and ornamental plants. Next, head to Rose Garden or Centenary Rose Park which is situated in the heart of Ooty town. It is the largest Rose Garden in India laid out to commemorate the centenary Flower Show in Government Botanical Gardens. The garden has the largest collections of roses in the country, which boasts around 2241 varieties of roses. Later, proceed to visit the Art Gallery which displays various artefacts of tribal people, among which are sculptures and artworks from Toda tribe and objects detailing the ecological features of the region. The Art Gallery was set up in 1989, with an aim to familiarize people about the Tribal lifestyle and culture of the native Toda Tribe. Conclude your tour with a visit to Ooty Lake, an artificial lake situated in the heart of the city making it an ideal place for families.
