Day 1

ARRIVE KOCHI

Welcome to your 'Colours of Kerala' tour! On arrival at the airport in Kochi or railway station in Ernakulam, you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Kochi. Enjoy a half day city tour of Kochi (Private). Later, proceed on a half day city tour of Kochi visiting places like the St. Francis Church, Mattancherry Palace, the Jewish Synagogue and view the Chinese fishing nets near Fort Kochi area. St Francis Church is one of the oldest churches in India, built by Europeans. Originally built in 1503, the church has witnessed many skirmishes between Indians and the Britishers. It was declared a protected monument in 1923.

This church is built in the Indo gothic style of architecture. Later, visit the the Mattanchery Palace, a dutch palace which was built in 1555. It served as a gift to the local Raja of Kochi. The palace now exhibits temple art, portraits/ and exhibits of the Rajas of Kochi. Further, proceed to visit the Pardesi Synagogue the Jewish Synagogue, which is located in the corner of the Jew town in the city of Kochi. It is a prayer house or shrine for people from the Jewish faith. Built in 1568, the synagogue has a 500 year old history attached to it. Lastly, witness the Chinese fishing nets also called Cheena vala, which are the fishing installations made in Kochi. Each net has a limited area and depth of operation. These fishing nets make a beautiful backdrop for photography. Day 2

KOCHI - MUNNAR (130 KM / APPROX. 4 HOURS DRIVE)

Today after a delicious, proceed to Munnar. Drive through the picturesque countryside of Munnar which is surrounded by lush green tea estates. On arrival, check in to the hotel / resort . Breakfast The rest of the day is at leisure to explore this quaint hill station.
Day 03

MUNNAR

Embark on a sightseeing tour of Munnar (Private). Today, proceed on sightseeing tour of Munnar, including a visit to the Rose Gardens, a unique and eco-friendly home stay experience, that attracts visitors, especially nature enthusiasts, from all over the world. This Garden, spread over 2 acres of land, is an excellent stretch that is brimming with a variety of plants, including spices, crops like cardamom and vanilla, and a variety of other fruit trees. It is a mesmerising location to capture the beauty and elegance of nature's miracles and beautiful enchanting works.

Later, visit the Tata Tea Museum which has a display of variety of antiquities including curios, photographs and machinery; all of which depict the origins and growth of tea plantations in Munnar. The highlights include a sundial made in 1913, a 1905 tea roller, a burial urn from 2nd century BC, office furniture of tea estates like typewriters, manual calculators and an EPABX dating from 1909 and classic furniture including wooden chairs, tables, magneto phone, iron ovens and a wooden bath tub. There is also a tea-tasting demonstration room and a mini manufacturing unit (closed on Mondays). Later, return to your hotel. Pickup Duration From Time Hotel 03:00 hrs 9:00 AM Enjoy a visit to Echo Point and Mattupetty Lake (Private). Post lunch, visit Echo Point followed by a visit to beautiful Mattupetty Lake. Located on the way to top station at a distance of 15 km from Munnar, Echo Point is a popular picnic spot and a nature lover's delight. With beautiful lush green landscapes, serene surroundings and a favourable climate all year around, it is the perfect place to relax and unwind. This scenic place derives its name from the natural echo phenomenon that happens here, where one can clearly hear their voice echoing within the reservoir. Also, visit the Mattupetty Lake which is flanked by steep hills and woods and has been created by the small hydro-electricity dam. The entire area around it is covered with forests and sightings of wild animals are common. This territory is famous for its elephant sightings. Day 04

MUNNAR - THEKKADY (95 KM / APPROX. 3 HOURS DRIVE)

Transfer from hotel / resort in Munnar to hotel in Thekkady, en route enjoy a spice plantation tour (Private). Today, proceed to Thekkady, en-route enjoy a spice plantation tour, where you will be acquainted with numerous spices and plants of various types. On arrival, check in to the hotel. Pickup Duration From Time Hotel NA 8:00 AM Drive to Periyar Lake (Private). Later, proceed to enjoy a boat ride on Periyar Lake in Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary (Entrance fee and boat ride on direct payment basis). Note: Please carry a photo id proof for Periyar boat ride. Pickup Duration From Time Hotel 04:00 hrs 2:00 PM Breakfast The rest of the evening is at leisure to walk through the bustling spice market in the village of Kumily.
Day 05

THEKKADY - ALLEPPEY (129 KM / APPROX. 3 HOURS 30 MINS DRIVE)

Today after breakfast, proceed to the idyllic backwaters of Alleppey, Kerala's 'Venice of the East', a heartland of lagoons and mangrove fields, inter-linked with hundreds of narrow winding canals. On arrival, check in to the hotel/ resort. Breakfast The rest of the day is at leisure to explore the scenic surroundings of Alleppey.
Day 06

ALLEPPEY - KUMARAKOM (51 KM / APPROX. 1 HOUR 30 MINS DRIVE)

After breakfast, proceed on a picturesque drive to Kumarakom. On arrival, check in to the hotel. Breakfast The rest of the day is at leisure to relax.
Day 07

KUMARAKOM - TRIVANDRUM (175 KM / APPROX. 5 HOURS 30 MINS DRIVE)

After breakfast, proceed to Trivandrum. On arrival, check in to the hotel. Breakfast The rest of the day is at leisure for individual activities.
Day 08

TRIVANDRUM

Embark on an excursion to Kanyakumari, en route visit the Suchindram Temple (Private). After breakfast, proceed on an excursion to Kanyakumari. Visit the Vivekananda Rock Memorial, one of the finest pieces of architecture in Southern India. Situated on a rock island, Vivekananda Rock Memorial is a major tourist attraction in Kanyakumari and houses the statue of the great preacher Swami Vivekananda who swam to this small rocky island and meditated here in his quest for enlightenment. Further continue to visit the Suchindram Temple, one of the best places to understand the rich religious and cultural heritage of India, which is dedicated to a deity representing the combined forces of Siva, Vishnu and Brahma. Day 09

DEPART TRIVANDRUM
